Adjustments and Manipulation

Spinal Adjustment

What is a Chiropractic Adjustment?

A chiropractic adjustment, also known as chiropractic manipulation, manual manipulation, or spinal manipulation, is the primary chiropractic method for correcting subluxations. A subluxation occurs when a vertebrae within in the spine gets stuck, putting excess pressure on the surrounding nerves, muscles and ligaments. By removing subluxations via a chiropractic adjustment, you restore function and movement within the joints of the spine, thus relieving pressure on joints, reducing inflammation, and improving nerve function.

Are chiropractic adjustments safe?

Chiropractic adjustments are one of the safest forms of healthcare today. They are non-invasive, and adjustments do not add anything into the body (medications or chemicals), and they do not remove anything from the body (surgery). The first chiropractic adjustment was performed in 1895 by DD Palmer, and the use of chiropractic adjustments have continued to evolve for the last 120+ years.

Overall, spinal adjustments and manipulations are an excellent way to keep the body functioning at its highest level without any discomfort. When the body is adequately aligned, it becomes able to respond and perform as it was built to do.
